
Janet Montecalvo is an illustrator, designer and scenic artist. Her illustrations and lettering projects can be found in books, magazines, and greeting cards as well as in television and film productions.
In 1989 she received Emmy Award honors for her graphic design contributions to the television movie, “I’ll be Home for Christmas”, starring Hal Holbrook and Courtney Cox. Her illustrations in the book, “Sofie and the City”, were nominated by Boyds Mills Press for the Golden Kite award for best picture book illustrations of 2006.
Classical training in fine arts is evident in her unique painting style and subject matter. Her latest endeavor is one of combining traditional painting techniques with computer programs.
Clients include Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt, Scholastic, Highlights, Carus and Prudent Publishing.
Film and television credits include Spenser For Hire, Mermaids, Kennedys and Fitzgeralds mini series, Second Sight, Stanley and Iris and various commercials.
Janet resides in Framingham, MA with her husband and two sons.
